2005 Spring Camporee Information

Guide for the weekend:

Casco Bay District

Theme: Medieval Times

Let it be known that all who are gathered for this night in this place of honor shall be challenged on their scoutly skills.

Directions

Cumberland Fairgrounds

169 Blanchard Rd, Cumberland, ME,

Route 100/26 turn onto Skillins Road then a right onto Blanchard Rd.

Campfires & Trash

Leave no trace – carry in and carry out must be done. All fires need to be above ground.

Water

Water will not be on. It is important that all units bring the water they will need for the weekend.

Program

Catapults must be put together at site. Materials need to be all natural. No nails please. You need to supply 5 one gallon jugs with water. Accuracy will be tested.

Compasses will be necessary in order to find the Holy Grail.

Knots and Lashing will be graded through out the day.

Each patrol will need to supply a bow /drill.

Flags

Each patrol needs a flag showing your Coat of Arms. Your patrol will need to carry their flag throughout the weekend.

Costumes

You are encouraged to be dressed in theme.

Dessert Contest

Dessert contest entries will be submitted to the judges from 6:30 to 7:00. No entries will be accepted after 7:00, and each patrol may enter only once. Judging will be based on the following criteria:

  • Ingredients/recipe
  • Difficulty of food preparation
  • Taste
  • Presentation/looks
  • Method of preparing

The scores for each category will be based on a 5-point system.
