  Camp Scarborough

Years ago, an anonymous donor provided a sum of money to benefit scouting in Scarborough.  This money was used to buy a bit more than 20 acres of land off West Beech Ridge Road to be set aside for outdoor activities for the town's Boy Scouts.  In recent years Camp Scarborough has been surrounded by development, plagued by property access issues and fallen prey to vandals.

Now, the leadership and parents of Troop 39 have joined with Troop 47 and existing members of the Camp Scarborough Committee to preserve this valuable resource.  In 2005, the committee will undertake repairs to our access bridge which was destroyed by vandals in 2004.  We will also begin cleanup and restoration work in the camp area itself.  This activity is part of our responsibility to the youth of our community.
